Supporting fundamental rights

GenHET goal is to promote gender equality in the high-energy physics community, foster interactions among gender minorities and create awareness of gender disparity in the academic environment. Our efforts stem from the firm assumption that gender minorities enjoy the same fundamental human rights, especially the rights to healthcare and privacy. This is unfortunately not true in many countries, and this is no more guaranteed for women and men in the USA.

Restricting access to reproductive healthcare discriminates women and will disadvantageously impact their life and career. Minorities will be mostly affected, against any ideology of fairness and equal opportunity in society.

Since its beginning, GenHET has demanded efforts by the high-energy physics community to make sure women are given the same career opportunities as men, regardless of their personal life and family choices. This cannot be achieved without ensuring they have unconstrained access to healthcare.

GenHET condemns the recent overturning of Roe v. Wade by the US Supreme Court and commits to promote equal rights for every person of every gender, race, social status, and Nationality.
