The Faculty of Physics at the University of Vienna invites applications for a university assistant (post doc) in the Mathematical Physics Group with a contract period of up to 6 years that may start as early as January 1 2023. The group conducts research on theoretical and mathematical questions in theories of fundamental interactions including quantum field theory, gravity, and string theory. We are looking for an excellent scientist with a high potential of independent, creative research. The applicant's research interests preferably include geometric and algebraic aspects of fundamental physical theories and fit in well with the group; they also connect well to other activities at the Faculties of Physics and Mathematics and at the Erwin Schrödinger Institute. The position includes teaching (in average 4 hours per week during the terms).
